Delizia al limone

The “delizia al limone” (“lemon delight”) is a typical dessert of Sorrento’s cuisine, with the shape of a small dome, made of sponge cake soaked in Limoncello and a lot of lemon-flavored cream.
It is a relatively young recipe: the dessert was created in 1978 by chef Carmine Marzuillo, who receives the visits of those who try to steal his secrets in his workshop in Sorrento.
The lemon delight is more than a dessert: it is a sensory experience that with its aromas and flavours is able to evoke the walks to the sea and the smells of the Peninsula.
